I’m a HUGE diablo fan

I’m a HUGE diablo 2 fan, and with the recent upcoming of diablo 3, i’m more than ecstatic to play it asap. . i am using vista sp 1 and am having trouble upgrading it to sp 2……also i tried changing the compatibility to xp sp 3 but i don’t have that option.
Diablo 3 requirements state a NVIDIA GeForce 260 or ATI Radeon HD 4870 or better is needed.
EDIT: Those are recommended, not minimum. Minimum is NVIDIA®GeForce 7800 GT or ATI Radeon X1950 Pro.
Here’s a Hierarchy Chart to show what’s as good as or better than those cards. Be aware you may need to upgrade your power supply if the video card uses more power than your current one can handle.

At the beginning, i would like to share with you all what’s on my mind :
It did tie in because it was always implied that there was a greater force simply using the reapers to accomplish a task, and so it had to end with us finding out who or what that was but it felt as though they had written the whole series except the final reveal of who was behind it all and then at the end of development they thought “hang on, we forgot something, we’re supposed to be explaining it all by showing who’s idea it was to purge the majority of existence every 50,000 years” and then just tacked on the ending that everyone is complaining about. tbh I didnt mind the ending all that much, what with the confusion as to exactly why the reapers were destroying everything there needed to be a reasonably logical explanation at the end of the series but I think the developers were trying to hard to make it like all those films u see with a big twist or reveal right at the end, but that doesn’t work as well in a video game, especially a long running series, because it takes away the feeling of being in control that the game did so well at providing up until that point. I didn’t mind the subject matter of the ending but it was rushed and could have probably been extended into a 4th game even if padded out.
Some opinions are so puerile. I actually loved the ending. Seeing Joker and EDI made Shepard’s sacrifice (if he really did die) worthy. I hate the ending because it doesn’t give me more details. What happened next. What happened to Shepard and the others… But there are ways to explain all these later… just keep the hope burning.
These Stop Koni, Stop Acta kids now want to change a game ending!? What next… petition Tolkien to bring Boromir back to life?
It’s really a good game anyway, and i will not give up!

Big news!Mass Effect Panel-PAX East April 6 coming!

I’m pleased to know that Mass Effect will be a part of the Penny Arcade PAX East event in Boston Mass from April 6 through April 8! I don’t know about the full plans for PAX East yet, but I have now confirmed that we will be having a Mass Effect panel in the Manticore theater on Friday April 6 from 4:30 till 5:30. Immediately before the Mass Effect panel is a Dragon Age panel in the same theater from 3:00 till 4:00.As it is hinted in the official PAX East program schedule, they will give special recognition to fans who come out to the panel dressed as their favorite Mass Effect characters.

The games are meant to be played in succession since the decisions you make in one game will affect the story in the next game. You would most certainly lose a bit of the experience by only playing the third game. That’d be like watching Star Wars and only watching Return of the Jedi, or getting into Harry Potter and only reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Personally I think it’s just such a greater experience if you play the first two games, because every decision you make in the first two games is a personal choice, and one of the great features of the series is that you get to see these choices play out and change the storyline of your game.

However Bioware has said that they have tailored the final installment so that players only just starting the series with mass effect 3 can jump into the experience just as well as old players, but! there are so many choices that are made for you by bioware if you do this that you cannot change unless you make your own choices in Mass Effect 1 and 2.

The game is advertised as the best one to start with if you haven’t started yet, but if you can – try and get the first two,
otherwise you’ll still have an amazing blast with mass effect 3, but there will be plenty you’re missing out on – although i guess it doesn’t hurt if you don’t know what you’re missing.

Badass hot chicks beating the crap out of monsters, flipping around in skimpy outfits and speaking with thick English accents might sell a few games, but unless a title can provide a real reason for gamer to pick it up, it could be bound for failure. Luckily, Blades of Time’s dual-wield katanas, massive guns and blond pigtails come supplemented with some innovative and intriguing gameplay possibilities with its time rewind mechanic.

Blades of Time follows the adventures of a treasure hunter, Ayumi as she explores a mysterious island full of monsters, valuable treasure, and untold power for her to wield. The game plays as a standard third-person action title full of tons of weapons to unlock, and magic powers to obtain. We played through one of the early levels in the game set in a lush jungle with plenty of enemies and some platforming elements. Levels appear to be fairly linear, challenging players to bypass locked gates, impassable cliffs and hordes of baddies.

The majority of the gameplay focuses on killing bad guys – which Ayumi is well equipped to do. The Heroine brandishes twin katanas which rapidly cause damage up close and a variety of rifles and shotguns to use at a distance. The action looks similar to Bayonetta or God of War as Ayume slashes up monsters, launches them up to into the air with Guile style flash kicks, deals out finishing moves before she dashes to the next victim to deliver more pain. Add a few super moves like screen nuking magic fireballs and splintering ice shards and you have a pretty decent action game, but what makes Blades of Time stand out from other action games is its time rewind mechanic.

Rewinding time has been done before in games like Prince of Persia or Braid, but unlike the Prince, Ayume is not affected by the reversal. Using the ability will not pull you out of pits or prevent you from being skewered by a deadly trap – when the time rewind ability is activated the player stands unaffected and watches time go backward. This creates a “current Ayumi” and a “previous Ayumi” essentially making clones in time. The clones can be used in a variety of ways.

For instance, some enemies have impenetrable defenses when attacked from the front and are too fast to maneuver behind. Attacking for a short time then rewinding will cause the enemy to be distracted by your previous self and allow you to circle around and attack his back. Time can be rewound without limit to your last checkpoint and can be done multiple times allowing multiple duplicate Ayumis to be present at one time.

The rewinding mechanic can also be applied to solving the world’s puzzles. At one point we were required to turn a crank which opened a gate that would immediately close when released. We then used the time rewind ability so that our clone opened the gate for us and we just waltzed right through. The new twist on time manipulation definitely piqued our interest.
